Construction Project Manager On behalf of our client, a Private Health Clinic in Galway, we are inviting applications from suitably experienced and qualified Construction Project Managers. Your role will be to plan and supervise a wide range of construction and fitout projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee construction procedures and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner, within budget and with minimum levels of disruption to hospital operations. Advise on business cases for capital investment. Manage and report on project risks and opportunities including supporting the administration process for each project. Provide subject matter expertise to key stakeholders and the management team.
The key responsibilities include: project(s) scope, timing, cost, quality, and Health, Safety, Security & Environment. The size and scope of the project may vary from small weekly activities to large-scale developments.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeading a project from initiation to delivery and close outCoordinate and facilitate communication among all stakeholdersSupport the senior team in preparing early business case information for new projectsCompetency in PSDP and PSCS and risk managementEngage contractors for preliminary surveys where applicableEngage cad technician for creating drawings for smaller projectsApply GC APPs for surveys, inspections, drawings, imagery etc.Liaison with infection prevention control and Health & Safety consultantDefine and manage the project scope ensuring it aligns with the project goalsEngage and appoint design team members, lead the design & project teams coordinating with Engineering Manager and teamIssue tender packs for small scale works where applicableDevelop and manage project schedules and timelinesEstablish and manage budgets including creating purchase orders, approval, tracking expenses and cost savingsTrack project progress and corrective actionsSafety file and O&M pack reviewRegular site inspections to confirm plans and specifications are adhered toCoordinate requirements in relation to Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)Manage the overall equipment schedule & schedule coordination between contractor scope and internal commissioning of equipmentCoordinate Risk assessments (cost overrun, supply chain issues, design decisions)Information and communication management dealing with all RFIs and clarification requestsCoordination of scope works (mostly will impact between internal and MEP)Deliver high quality projects on time, to the right scope, and on budget, with minimal levels of disruption to the site (medical clinic)Ensure projects are delivered as sustainably as possible whilst meeting industry standards for healthcare projectsPartake in Quality initiatives within departmentAny other duties as required by Head of FacilitiesRequirements & SkillsBSc/BA in any of the following: Construction, Engineering, Architecture, building science or relevant field or equivalentProject Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification will be an advantageProven experience as construction project managerPrevious experience working in a hospital environment desirableIn-depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principlesFamiliarity with quality and health and safety standardsGood knowledge of MS OfficeFamiliarity with construction/project management softwareOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsFamiliarity with budget managementExcellent organizational and time-management skillsA team player with leadership abilitiesFlexibleRewardsSalary €70,000 – €80,000 + 10% bonus
