Consultant Practitioner - Urgent and Emergency CareWe have a clear purpose - to provide and coordinate safe, effective, responsive and patient-centred out-of-hospital emergency, urgent and non-emergency care, so all our patients can have the best possible experience and outcomes. The Consultant Practitioner role strengthens clinical leadership in our services, including developing specialist and advanced practice in the Trust and a vacancy has arisen for this post within the Humber and North Yorkshire area.
The post holder will be instrumental in our clinical engagement with health, social care and tri-services partners in the delivery of integrated care and play a key part in influencing the clinical direction of our organisation. The successful candidate will have a strong clinical background within the field of pre-hospital urgent and emergency care. They will be highly experienced clinicians, with well-developed leadership skills and a strong track record of collaborative working to drive improvements in patient care.
Main duties of the jobThe post holder will be a key player in our area leadership team and act as our senior representative of the Trust in clinical networks across the Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS) area, working across teams to influence clinical strategy and the development of patient care.
The postholder will work within a matrix structure, playing a key part in leading, influencing and delivering the clinical direction for the organisation. The work will be primarily within the defined area of an Integrated Care System footprint but the post will also contribute significantly to clinical leadership across the Trust.

Person SpecificationQualificationsRegistered Paramedic or NurseMasters degree relevant to the field of clinical practiceEvidence of ongoing personal development and specialist trainingEducation to doctorate level relevant to the field of clinical practiceExtensive knowledge within the field of pre-hospital urgent and emergency careUnderstanding of applicable techniques for research and advanced academic enquiryExperienceRegistered paramedic or nurse with a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience within the field of urgent and emergency care.Has experience of policy, procedure and patient pathway developmentExperience of engaging multiple stakeholders and working across organisational boundaries in complex systemsExperience of leading, introducing or managing complex change programmesDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
