We are seeking a User Experience (UX) and Content Designer who is passionate about creating exceptional user experiences and crafting compelling, user-focused content.
Job OverviewAs a User Experience and Content Designer, you will play a key role in designing and improving digital services for public use.
This role combines expertise in content creation and user-centred design to deliver seamless, accessible, and engaging digital experiences.
Working in collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will ensure all services and content meet user needs, comply with accessibility standards, and align with organisational goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesUser Experience (UX) DesignApply user-centred design principles to develop accessible and user-friendly digital services.Conduct user research to identify needs, behaviours, and challenges.Design user journeys that ensure seamless task completion and intuitive navigation.Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups to illustrate design ideas.Maintain UX documentation such as personas and user journey maps.Collaborate with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure technical feasibility.Content DesignDevelop clear, concise, and engaging content for websites, applications, and digital interfaces.Ensure all content meets accessibility standards and is aligned with brand voice and tone.Translate complex information into user-friendly formats, including guides and forms.Conduct usability testing to validate content effectiveness and refine as needed.Provide training and audits to ensure all digital content adheres to best practices.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with service designers, developers, and stakeholders to integrate content and UX seamlessly into digital products.Advocate for user-centric design throughout the product lifecycle.Testing and OptimisationConduct usability testing to validate designs and gather actionable feedback.Use analytics tools to assess performance and optimise content and design for user engagement.Ensure compliance with relevant accessibility and legal standards.Key Skills and QualificationsProven experience in UX design, content design, or a related field.Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) and content management systems.Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create simple, clear content.Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.Experience conducting user research and applying insights to design decisions.Familiarity with analytics tools to track content performance.Strong organisational and communication skills, with experience working in agile environments.Desired ExperienceExperience designing public-facing digital services.Familiarity with regulatory and accessibility requirements.Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is an advantage.Understanding of information architecture and SEO best practices.
