This role involves working in a complex regulatory environment and assisting the Legal Manager Corporate and Regulatory, as well as the entire legal team, on specific topics such as reviewing new business projects and reinsurance agreements on a worldwide scale. You will seek out creative ways to support the companies and participate actively in the delivery and ongoing support of new business projects (i.e., new market entries, product launches, etc.) from a legal perspective - both in terms of legal research, contract negotiation, and drafting. You will also assist on all non-insurance contracts and business arrangements (HR, marketing, sponsorship agreements, leases, licenses, conveyance type agreements) and centralize the legal monitoring of all corporate insurance covers within the team.
What you will do Draft and review contracts and agreements linked to corporate projects.Liaise with partner companies to negotiate and finalize agreements.Represent Legal at cross-company project meetings for new business arrangements.Complete research of insurance supervisory and health insurance laws of the jurisdictions in which AWP Health & Life sells.Research legal requirements for sales arrangements and new products in other jurisdictions.Provide legal support to new product development and new market entry projects, determining the legal impacts of such projects.Review marketing material and policy documents.Provide product development advice (legal and regulatory).Conduct regulatory advice and research regarding AWP Health & Life sales practices globally.Manage applications for new and renewals of licenses (reinsurance licenses) required by AWP Health & Life.Manage relationships with external counsel and take responsibility for the external legal budget.Additionally, you will:
Review all service contracts and non-insurance/broker contracts as well as any contracts relevant to a new market entry or project in a timely manner and draft contracts as required.Draft non-standard contracts upon request while ensuring the correct legal clauses are included in any such agreements to ensure full compliance.Provide assistance to other team members in reviewing various contracts.Review contracts referred to Legal in a timely manner.Update standard contract templates as and when required, such as for changes in applicable law, dispute resolution, compliance with Reinsurance Policy, etc.Ensure high attention to detail.Obtain internal sign-offs where required and ensure internal sign-offs obtained are saved in the relevant contract sub-folder.Ensure AZ Group required clauses are included in the agreements as required.Adhere to the Allianz 'Four Eye' principle - follow the peer review process for new templates/one-off non-standard agreements and for all other non-standard agreements that are drafted where time permits.Become familiar with AzP standard template agreements and updated Reinsurance Policy and create and update new templates as required.Review and draft other agreements as required.Raise any key issues and escalate any risk areas with the Head of Legal in a timely manner to ensure appropriate business sign-offs are obtained.What you need Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience.Legal experience in another EU Member State is desirable.Experience in an in-house legal role is required.
