PE Global, in partnership with a leading Cork-based Electrical Contractor, are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee Industrial Electrical/Instrumentation projects across Cork City and the West Cork region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple phases of electrical contracts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining the company's strong reputation for quality and safety. Most projects and maintenance contracts are based in the West Cork area.
This is a permanent position that is paying an excellent remuneration package and also a company vehicle is on offer for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Oversee and manage multiple industrial electrical projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet contractual obligations, timelines, and budgets. Client Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships, understanding their needs, and ensuring high levels of satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle. Team Coordination: Collaborate with and coordinate internal project teams, including engineers, electricians, and subcontractors, to ensure seamless project delivery. Resource Management: Ensure optimal use of labor, materials, and equipment to maintain project efficiency and profitability. Risk Management: Identify potential risks, challenges, and delays, and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, control costs, and prepare detailed financial reports, including forecasting, for both internal and external stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards, adhering to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all health and safety standards are strictly adhered to on-site, promoting a culture of safety within the project teams. Tendering & Negotiation: Assist in the preparation of tenders, negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, and manage contract variations as needed. Reporting: Provide regular project status updates to senior management, including progress reports, financial summaries, and any issues requiring escalation. Key Requirements: Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in site management, contract or project management within the industrial electrical sector. Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale electrical projects, ideally within a contractor environment. Qualifications: A degree or relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Electrical Contractor License) would be an advantage.
