The Data Center Global Services team is looking for a Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS), responsible for the building automation systems within Amazon data centers to join our EMEA team. Controls Engineers in AWS deploy, maintain BMS (Building Management System) & EPMS (Electrical Power Monitoring System) across our leased/colocation data centers. They coordinate with AWS DCEO (Data Center Engineering Operations) teams to implement new builds, upgrades, etc., and ensure high availability and high resiliency of these control systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesAscertain customer needs to help develop project scope and specifications.Manage scopes of work relative to the site specifics and customer needs.Manage project engineering to determine the scope of work relative to the design intent of the customer needs.Read and interpret specifications and implement those specifications as they apply to the work environment.Develop control panel BOMs.Develop ISA data sheets for temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters along with ISA data sheets for control valves, positioners, analytical, and various other types of instrumentation.Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes, including general arrangement, internal layout, schematics, and interconnection and wire diagrams.Develop logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex logic devices such as Programmable Logic Controller and Distributed Control System.Prepare cable routing plans and schedules.Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of the facility systems.Provide technical assistance as needed to internal customers.Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on-time completion of projects within budget.Travel domestically and internationally to support other regions.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSB.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees.Minimum Three (3) years in BMS or EPMS Controls related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, industrial HVAC.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated success in leading and managing teams, preferably in a Controls, Mechanical or electrical construction environment.Experience as a Controls Engineering Specialist.Minimum 3 years of field service experience preferably with the following products: Siemens: Apogee, Honeywell: Building Controls/Trend, Schneider Electric: PowerLogic/Struxureware.Project management, organization, and problem-solving skills with a drive for results and the ability to handle multiple tasks.Masters in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or other related engineering degrees.Certificates including Project Management qualification (PMP, IPMA, IPMC), Lean or Six Sigma, Trend / IQ Vision Certified, Niagara N4 Certified, Schneider certified Engineer, Distech certified Engineer.Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
