The role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tax Manager to work in our Cork Tax practice advising a wide variety of indigenous and international clients across diverse sectors on local and international tax matters as the ever changing need to remain tax compliant continues at pace.
The Grant Thornton Tax department is a growing team of over 200 specialists with deep industry, sector and technical knowledge.
The successful candidate will work as part of the Cork Tax Team based out of our new offices at Penrose but will also be fully integrated into our national tax practice.
Responsibilities Manage a team providing tax services to a broad range of clients;Building a rapport with clients and developing a clear and detailed understanding of their business and expectations;Providing intelligent and creative solutions to client tax issues both reactively and proactively;Responsible for managing income tax and corporation tax client portfolios including planning and performing tax consultancy assignments;Working as part of a team to help deliver large scale tax consultancy projects;Demonstrate a clear appetite for self-development through the appraisal and personal development plan processes;Participate in business development activities and contribute to sales pitches.Skills and attributes: CTA qualified or equivalent;Minimum 2+ years' post qualification experience of working in a tax department;Strong technical knowledge including a thorough knowledge of personal, corporate and capital taxes;Proven ability to identify opportunities for clients;Capable of working on your own initiative;Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and the team;Managerial skills with the ability to manage compliance processes;Strong interpersonal skills are essential together with proven people development skills;Ambitious and want to pursue a career in practice;Strong attention to detail.Equity, diversity and inclusion At Grant Thornton, we provide equitable opportunities for all our colleagues.
