Waterford Intellectual Disability Association are currently recruiting for a Part Time Corporate Governance Compliance and Quality Officer.
Who We Are: WIDA is a community based voluntary provider of services for adults and children with an intellectual disability and/or autism in Waterford City and County.
WIDA is registered charity, with a voluntary Board of Directors, and is fully funded by the Health Service Executive.

Education/Training/Experience Diploma in Quality Management or similar qualification Qualification in GDPR and Data Protection desirable (training can be provided) 5 years + experience of quality and compliance standards and certification Experience of risk management and control Responsibilities of the Position: Compliance/Corporate Governance Support the Board in the requirements and responsibilities of the Governing Board in a Charity context Ongoing review of the systems, documentation and practices In conjunction with the Board, produce and implement the improved systems and documentation Development and maintenance of policies and procedures Identify shortfalls/forecast requirements and produce policies to address these shortfalls Ensure that key activities such as quality, safety and risk management are included in the remit of the Board and systems are in place to facilitate this Responsible for identification, documentation, and management of risk Advise BOD on Corporate Governance Principals and implementation of governance programs and risk management frameworks Monitor and maintain division of responsibility and separation of power Make recommendations for improving the robustness of the existing systems Provide/source training in corporate governance and leading the organisation for board members Ensure that the WIDA corporate governance policies and procedures accord with the HSE and HIQA requirements which may change over time Apply the above to partner organisations as directed Participate in regular briefing/information sessions with the senior management team Ensure that management have the systems in place to inform the BOD as appropriate Establishment, development, implementation and maintenance of required systems Provide report writing guidance to BOD Provide project management guidance to BOD Ongoing development of policies and procedures Provide support to the Board as required Quality Quality management audits Manage external audits including NSAI certification Data Protection/GDPR Main point of contact within the organisation for staff, regulators, and relevant public authorities on issues related to Data Protection Ensure company policies are in compliance with the Data Protection Act (2018) and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) Skills/Attributes Confidentiality and discretion Strategic Thinking and Planning Risk Management Influencing and communication Excellent communication, IT and presentation skills Initiative and drive and an ability to work independently Thinking in a systematic manner Prioritise, plan, and organise own workload Effective team player with an open and flexible attitude Strong analytical and research skills To process an application for a role with WIDA , we need to process personal data about you.
