Job Introduction We have an exciting opportunity for a Costs Advisor to join our Legal Costs Team based in Ireland!
As our new Costs Advisor, you will be joining our Member Claims and Cases Division at the forefront of protecting the careers, reputation and financial risk of our Members worldwide.
You will support our Legal Costs team to better internalise work and reduce the use of third-party legal costs.
Working as part of a supportive and collaborative global team, our Cost Advisors will manage a caseload of claims for costs at various stages of development, acting on behalf of MPS to negotiate, prepare and present any relevant submissions.
Role Responsibility Support the management of legal costs to ensure fair treatment and outcomes for members and compliance with associated policies and standards set out by Council, its committees and delegated authorities Provide insight and share knowledge with internal stakeholders on relevant in country developments that may influence the strategic direction of Legal Costs Drive service standards on Legal Costs in the relevant jurisdiction, delivering on the required KPI's and financial targets In conjunction with the team, investigate and analyse facts, law and quantum early, and devise and implement effective strategies to move claims for costs to resolution The Ideal Candidate A background of working either within either the financial or legal sector (Essential) Experience of dealing with Defendant clinical negligence costs disputes and assessment of Bills (Desirable) Experience of working autonomously and managing priorities within workload (Essential) Significant experience of handling own case load (Desirable) Technical expertise in legal costs (Desirable) Strong commercial and risk awareness (Essential) Package Description Alongside a competitive salary, you will also receive: Annual performance-related pay review 11% pension contribution (3% from you, 8% from us – optional additional matched 3% contributions, e.g.
