Cost Engineer Fantastic opportunity with our client, a major EPCM company, for a home office-based Cost Engineer working on Life Science Engineering Projects.
Responsibilities Proactively monitor, implement, and evaluate earned value on projects to track progress in home office and field construction projects. Communicate budget, actual status, and forecast costs/labour hours for projects. Create client and internal status reports that effectively communicate cost status. Assist the project manager and construction manager to develop accurate and timely estimates at completion on a monthly basis. Perform cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, risk management, cost analysis, and variance analysis. Work closely with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Prepare change notices promptly in connection with the PM/CM. Coordinate requirements for project managers and implement specific control procedures. Requirements 5+ years of experience with Cost Engineering/Project Controls. Knowledge of engineering and construction techniques and their cost impacts. Experience with work breakdown structures and resolving financial issues. Preferably a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant work experience. Previous experience working with a multi-disciplined group (Engineering and Construction) to determine the EAC, the efficiency of both cost (CPI) and schedule (SPI), and highlight the potential risks to completion and their financial impact. Cost Engineering/Project Controls experience on EPCMV life-cycle projects in the Life Sciences or Bio-Pharma industry. High degree of Emotional Intelligence, team player mentality, coachable. Prolog and EPCMV project life cycle experience (home office and field construction). Advanced Excel and/or Power BI skills. Experience using EcoSys.
