Role: Data Analyst Our client, a semi state government body is looking to hire a Data Analyst on an initial contract of 24 Months with potential to extend to 48 months. You will have the opportunity to work with and support different business units. Requirements: A minimum of 3 years of experience with: *Advanced technical data analysis techniques, including writing and using complex SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and cleansing, as well as query optimization and the development of complex stored procedures. *Practical experience with either Tableau or Power BI for producing advanced data visualizations, as well as experience with other data reporting tools like SSRS. *Project-based experience applying descriptive and predictive analytics using R and Python coding languages. *Experience using Azure Data Factory to design and implement data ingestion processes (including any necessary data transformations) into an Azure SQL instance. *Ability to write high-quality technical support documents. *Proven ability to manage multiple business priority requests and work items, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with business requirements. Your Responsibilities: *Extract information using complex SQL joins from various data stores, and present insights through visualizations. *Apply analytics, including statistical analysis and data mining methodologies, if necessary, to better understand customer behaviours, predictive modelling, risk analysis, compliance management, customer segmentation, and pattern recognition. *Contribute to the design of the Enterprise Data Model to facilitate the ingestion, transformation, cleansing, and consolidation of data in a standardized format. *Enhance data quality and integrity across all datasets by identifying data anomalies using scripts, which will be integrated into the Data Quality Monitoring Framework. *Ensure that the Data Reporting platform operates at peak performance by developing indexing strategies and regularly fine-tuning queries, creating reporting tables, and other optimization tasks. *Provide input as needed into the design, development, and delivery of the overall Data Strategy. *Follow established Data Team processes and visualization standards as defined by the Data Analytics Manager and contribute to the continuous improvement of these processes and standards. This role is predominantly remote with 1 week out of the month being spent in office in Ballina for collaboration and team-building purposes.
