Summary of Role:
Le Chéile Credit Union, based in Oldcastle & Athboy, is seeking applications for the role of Credit Control Officer, on a permanent, part-time basis (3 days per week) . This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced credit controller. The position is located onsite in Athboy, with flexibility to be stationed in our Oldcastle office, as required.
Job Purpose:
The Credit Controller's main responsibilities will be to lead the credit control and collections activities of the credit union including contributing to the development of credit control policy, ensuring its proper implementation and supporting the functioning and role of the Credit Control Committee. The Credit Controller will also contribute to the smooth operation of the credit union by undertaking related administrative and organisational tasks.
The Credit Control Officer will assist in ensuring that credit control risks in the lending portfolio are identified and assessed, then managed and mitigated to an acceptable tolerance level as set out by the Board of Directors. The role will implement effective credit control decisions and plans under the guidance and direction of the CEO, providing an efficient service to members within authorised limits, as granted, while minimising the number of accounts in arrears.
As a control function, this role is accountable for ensuring that the relevant Individual Accountability Framework responsibilities are met, in line with regulatory requirements.
Role Requirements: A minimum of two years senior credit control experience with QFA/APA Loans. Previous Mortgage Arrears Resolution Process (MARP) knowledge and experience beneficial. Previous experience supporting a Finance function preferrable. Detail orientated and organised, with strong numeracy and analytical skills. Possess excellent administration and report writing skills. Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment, with accuracy and personal accountability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence others Focused on continuous improvement, eager to learn new skills, show initiative and excel in the role, bringing improvements to the department. Approachable and friendly, with good teamwork and collaboration. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook applications Promote a culture that reflects the credit union's values and encourages good performance and excellent member services. Ideally, experience working on Progress Banking Systems.
