Job Title: Junior Data Analyst / Data Engineer (Contract) Location:Co. Mayo (Hybrid) Contract Duration: 24 months + 2 extensions Rate:Daily Rate Job Summary: Our client is seeking a Junior Data Analyst / Statistician to join their Data Analysis Unit.
Reporting directly to the Head of the Data Analysis Unit, this role involves supporting a variety of data analytics projects.
The selected candidate will work alongside internal team members and external specialists to meet reporting, analysis, and data quality objectives across multiple data demand channels.
The role requires strong SQL skills, experience with Tableau, and a solid understanding of data analytics, with opportunities for growth through mentorship and hands-on project involvement.
Key Responsibilities: SQL Development: Extract and manipulate data using advanced SQL techniques across multiple RSA data stores.
Optimize SQL queries and develop complex stored procedures for data cleansing and processing.
Data Visualization: Create advanced Tableau dashboards and visualizations that align with RSA data visualization standards.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to translate data into actionable insights.
Predictive Analytics: Apply statistical analysis, predictive behavior modeling, and data mining techniques using R and Python to support decision-making.
ETL Processes: Design and implement data ingestion and transformation workflows using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, ensuring seamless integration with on-prem and Azure SQL instances.
Data Quality: Identify and resolve data anomalies using SQL scripts integrated into RSAs Data Quality Monitoring Framework.
Enhance the integrity and accuracy of RSA datasets.
Collaboration & Documentation: Participate in the design of the RSA Enterprise Data Model, contributing to data migration and reporting system validation.
Write technical support documents and share knowledge through walkthrough sessions with internal team members.
Operational Support: Manage multiple business-critical requests from stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Report progress, risks, and status updates to the Data Analytics Manager on a weekly basis.
Required Skills & Experience: Junior Level: 1-3 years of professional experience in data analysis or statistics, ideally in both public and private sector consultancy projects.
A solid theoretical understanding, with the ability to translate theory into practice.
Key Technical Skills: Advanced SQL for data extraction, manipulation, cleansing, and query optimization.
Practical experience with Tableau for producing advanced data visualizations.
Knowledge of R and Python for applying descriptive and predictive analytics.
Experience with SSIS and Azure Data Factory for data ingestion and transformation.
Familiarity with data quality assessment and monitoring practices.
Qualifications: A formal qualification in Data Analytics or a related discipline (Level 8 or higher).
Client Interaction: Proven ability to handle multiple business priorities and deliver quality work on time.
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members.
Key Requirements: EU Citizenship or Stamp 4 visa Experience Level: Minimum of 3 years in data analysis/statistics (Junior level).
Qualification: Level 8 or higher in Data Analytics or a related field.
Availability: Ready to start by 25th November 2024 or no later than 9th December 2024.
English Proficiency: Fluency in English, with proof of proficiency if not a native speaker.
