Amazon Web Services Korea is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's MEP operates at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.
The Data Center Engineering Operations is responsible for ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center is operating within contract parameters within third party Colocation facilities. Often this will be including risk management and mitigation, corrective and preventative maintenance of critical infrastructure, vendor management and metric reporting.
Key job responsibilities
Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of the critical facility operations and maintenanceResponsible for the on-site management of shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors and vendors, ensuring that all work performed is in accordance with established practices and procedures.Manage relationship with third party Colocation providers and their facility staffResponsible for the operation of and management of both routine and emergency services on a variety of critical systems such as: switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.Data Center capacity planning and reportingMay assist in the design and build out of new facilitiesMay assist in projects to increase current Facility efficiencyWork with IT managers and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability and efficiencyDeliver quality service and ensure all customer demands are metProcurement for DCEO related expenditureResponsible for asset and inventory management

BASIC QUALIFICATIONSAt least four years of experience of Data Center or mission-critical systems (Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.) engineering or commissioning, operations, and/or on-call support. An understanding on the nature of mission critical systems (Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc.).An undergraduate/bachelor's degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) with ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.Business level of English with fluent KoreanPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAn excellent understanding of the Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, SCADA systems.An excellent understanding of the Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations include but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical system, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, dampers.
