AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer, you will operate and maintain AWS DCs' world-class mechanical and electrical infrastructure following a process-oriented approach. In addition, you will oversee facility operations and ensure the implementation of safety procedures.

Key Job Responsibilities SAFETY
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. Ensure remediation of safety risks/issues in conjunction with other teams. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
ENGINEERING & FACILITY OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE
- Support electrical and mechanical equipment, including Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and Transformers.
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center.
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs.
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.
- Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities.
A Day in the Life
- Work rotational shifts of 4 days of 12-hour shifts (2 days followed by 2 nights), and 4 days off (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
- Respond to on-call rotation for off-duty emergency calls.
- Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
- Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
- Perform tasks with or without reasonable accommodation, including moving objects/material (weight limits in accordance with regulations), working in outdoor weather conditions, working in noisy environments, and working at heights and from ladders.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or similar technical focus.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
- Knowledge of key electrical competencies and theory.
- UAE National with family book.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls.
