Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains the world's largest Computing Infrastructure.
Key job responsibilitiesIn this role as a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site management of hardware lifecycle of our IT infrastructure that includes:
Working as part of the Operations team, focused on the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.Server rack installation/decommission, hardware break-fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to emergent situations that affect operational stability.Meeting SLAs against assigned trouble tickets, serving as the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.Performing on-call duties and participating in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities.Contributing to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis for operational issues and process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.Assisting in training less experienced members of the team.A day in the lifeSupporting Data Center infrastructure equipment (e.g. racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables).Working in a ticket-based environment on systematic problem resolution and performing routine operation activities on hardware.Participating in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities.Exhibiting strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.Maintaining tidiness in operation areas.Covering 24/7 shift rotation.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSHigh school or equivalent diplomaSTEM classes or vocational course curriculum educationExperience with Microsoft Office products and applicationsAbility to work 40 hours/week, and overtime as requiredExperience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with ManagerPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSKnowledge of computer hardware components and operating systemsAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
