The Engineering Operations Facility Manager (AWS Data Centre) is responsible for managing all aspects of data centre infrastructure performance within a specific location. This role requires a driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.
Key Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
Setting and maintaining the highest standard for safety and actively promoting a world-class safety culture.Driving performance improvements against key metrics for large scale Data Centres across multiple AWS and Co-location sites.Delivering 100% uptime on customer-supporting infrastructure.Strategic planning and execution of corrective and preventative maintenance activities on mission-critical infrastructure.Managing technical teams and ensuring operational excellence and career development.Successful delivery of strategic projects on critical infrastructure.Managing vendor performance through regular performance reviews.Adopting and planning corporate risk strategy.Preparing for Critical Event Response readiness.Managing relationships within complex organizational matrices across cross-functional teams.Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
· 5+ years' experience in a high-volume mission-critical operational environment (e.g., data center, healthcare, high technology manufacturing).
· First-hand knowledge of business and management principles in strategic planning, resource allocation, and operational performance.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
· Full EU/IT driving license.
· 10 years of relevant industry experience.
· Demonstrated electrical and mechanical competencies and theory.
· Knowledge of safe electrical practices according to relevant guidelines.
· Strong knowledge and experience of Data Center infrastructure, including UPS and backup generator systems.
· Fundamental knowledge of network design and layout as well as low/high voltage cabling and monitoring systems.
