We are looking for a motivated and detail oriented Data Governance Analyst to join our Asset Servicing Data Governance Team at Northern Trust.
In this role, you will assist in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, ensuring our data assets are accurate, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
You will work closely with regional Data Governance Leads and cross-functional teams to support data governance initiatives, help establish data management best practices, and contribute to the creation of data policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be a quick learner with strong analytical skills, a keen interest in data governance, data management, and a desire to grow their expertise in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
They will also be required to be an evangelist for Data Governance and the Asset Servicing Business line across the enterprise and work with internal and external consumers and stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include: Developing tools and processes used to maintain a common, data standard across the Northern Trust Asset Servicing domain.
Assessing, managing and maintaining strategies that reduce data redundancy and increases the consistency/ confidence of data used for decision making; improving knowledge firm-wide.
Defining and delivering data management standards, processes and controls and content for the creation and maintenance of common data dictionaries.
Participating in periodic reviews to ensure continued compliance with the data governance policies (includes audits, compliance assessments, monitoring and control testing).
Resolving conflicting priorities among data owners, data consumers and custodians within sphere of the domain.
Collaborating with partners across the organization in maintaining the data governance and data quality structures ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost.
The ideal candidate should have a fair amount of the following skills: Demonstrated ability to build and foster relationships across the Enterprise.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a key subject matter expert and escalation point in the region.
Prior knowledge of the Financial Service sector and understanding how different business lines work together.
Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and Enterprise Data Management concepts products is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively communicating the role of Data Governance to both business and technical communities within the sphere of the data domain.
Good communication skills; verbal, non-verbal and written.
Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
