Data Privacy Program Manager – EU Expertise Our client is building the first universal and comprehensive identity infrastructure to help businesses of all sizes better serve and protect their customers' identities. Their identity platform enables businesses to securely collect and manage their customers' personal information, verify that their customers are who they say they are, analyze and detect fraud and abuse, and pull sensitive reports about their customers in a privacy-centric way.
About the Role Our client is looking for a Data Privacy Program Manager to make a big impact in building out their clients' European presence. This individual will be responsible for owning and building out a world-class compliance and security program. As one of their first hires in Europe, you'll drive projects end-to-end ranging from certifications and audits, vendor management, and procurement that ensure their client is an industry leader in securing customer data. The ideal candidate will have a combination of entrepreneurial tenacity, enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and excellent attention to detail.
Data Privacy and Compliance Drive end-to-end annual review and renewals of European Data Privacy regulations, GDPR compliance, eIDAS certification, and other high priority existing programs, including gathering information, scheduling resources, adding/removing/updating controls, leading and conducting review and audit meetings, tracking against deliverable deadlines and providing updates to the working team.Be the internal expert on security, compliance, data privacy, and industry-specific regulatory requirements (e.g., National Institute of Standards and Technology, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Biometric Information Privacy Act, Payment Services Directive) and prepare the organization for upcoming changes.Understand and be apprised of EU public policy and communicate with relevant stakeholders if any changes must be made internally.Manage communications between external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, regulatory boards, vendors) and internal teams.Research and kick off new key initiatives as well as ongoing new data privacy regulations like BSI compliance.Automate and improve relevant business processes that affect our client's compliance and security program (e.g., human resources, business continuity plan, vendor management, customer offboarding).Customer Due Diligence Assist in due diligence questionnaires from customers.Facilitate discussions between customers and data privacy teams.Liaise with EU governments in the EU when necessary.Research new tools to optimize internal efficiencies across teams.Responsibilities Taking ownership of and juggling any number of projects at once.Provide support across multiple teams.Streamline processes and create and/or improve on existing process documentation.Evaluate tools and services that can help us move faster and meet our security/compliance requirements.Work cross-functionally with internal engineering, business, product and legal teams.Additional duties and projects as assigned that will help us scale.About You Have excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail.Excellent self-initiated project management and thorough execution.Process-oriented.Quick and relentless learner that's not afraid to dive into complex projects that require critical thinking.Able to work cross-functionally, manage complex projects autonomously, and drive them forward while keeping stakeholders in the loop.Familiarity with data privacy/security/compliance programs and a passion to be the expert on this topic.Able to understand and communicate data privacy and security-related concepts (e.g., encryption).Demonstrated ability to drive projects and adhere to deadlines AND collaboratively with multiple individuals to get the job done.Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.Hungry to learn and grow and define the culture of a company.Creative and innovative, always looking for opportunities for improvement and growth on the individual and team level.Proficient with MS office suite and other computer applications.Business fluency in multiple languages a plus (German, Spanish, French etc.).APPLY NOW
