The re:Cycle Reverse Logistics Operations team offers worldwide cloud computing providers with a centralized means to disassemble, sort, function test, in-warranty return, repair, erase/wipe, and disposition server and networking assets that break or are no longer needed in the fleet. The team is seeking a detail-oriented, determined, and self-driven Data Steward to support its global operations by driving and working collaboratively across teams to maintain data consistency and accuracy, and by generating and driving data-related performance metrics in the organization's warehouse management system. This scope will ensure data reliability for the organization's three operating systems, driven by 700+ global users through our four global facilities that are generating millions of transactions per month across 70+ data tables. This role is critical to the re:Cycle Reverse Logistics system-management team that is responsible for maintaining application security, data, and compliance, and plays a key role in enabling global operations with reliable information needed to align on daily, monthly, and annual plans, and tracking operational performance to plan. Auditing and analyzing the system's data (both extracted and in-application), repairing inaccurate data, working across the organization and 3P service provider to root cause and repair recurring data issues, analyzing and prioritizing data "bugs" for resolution, supporting data change management initiatives, and generating/driving data-related performance metrics for leadership presentation are all in a day's work for the reverse logistics Data Steward.
Key job responsibilitiesEnsuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness of system data, both within and outside of the applicationDeveloping and enforcing data standards, policies, procedures, and governance strategies to maintain global data integrity and compliancePerforming regular data quality assessments, developing and implementing scorecards and improvement plans to address identified issuesWorking closely with stakeholders across the organization and service providers to understand data requirements and provide supportUtilizing SQL to query, extract, and analyze data to support business needsGenerating and presenting data performance metrics and reports/visuals to leadership to drive data consistency and accuracyProviding training and support to team members on data-related topics and best practicesManaging ticket queue, prioritization, and tradeoffs for strategic system developmentsFacilitating migration of legacy data into new systems and reporting architecture as neededTesting new data in development to ensure a successful implementation into production environmentsEngaging with customers and stakeholders to gather requirements for new reporting in developmentBASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of data management, data engineering, or related experience in a warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing, or reverse logistics environmentBachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related, or 4+ additional years of related experience in lieu of a degree2+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with one or more query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, Scala)Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines using AWS cloud toolsExperience using data visualization tools (Tableau, Quicksite, etc.) in developing insightful dashboards to share data with a variety of stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a keen eye for detailsProven track record for improving metrics and performance to SLAStrong verbal and written communication skills to translate complex problems using non-technical termsExperience managing a 3rd party vendorAmazon is an equal opportunities employer.
