Job Details We are seeking applications from energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team for the above position of Day Service Unit Co-Ordinator.
Candidates must be highly motivated, creative and experienced with a passion for engaging with service users on a daily basis.
Candidates must be self-driven, focussed and person-centred.
As a Day Services Unit Co-ordinator, your role will focus on leading and supervising a team of care supporters, as well as managing the day to day co-ordination of the day service unit/s.
All permanent contracts are with the service.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Key Responsibilites: Support and facilitate service developments and initiatives to ensure that the service can respond to changing needs of service users.
Be responsible for all aspects of Health and Safety of service users and staff and compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
Be responsible for the planning and implementation of Person-Centred Planning Programmes (PCP's) using evidence based practice.
To implement key worker systems.
To oversee the implementation of New Directions.
To ensure that the appropriate organisation supervisions and operations are up to standard.
Ensure that all prescribed medicines, drugs and treatments are administered to service users attending the service, that the required records are kept and updated.
Storage and administration of drugs and medicine complies with St. Aidan's Policies.
Ensure all relevant records and documentation are kept appropriately and up to date in relation to service users and staff in particular ensuring compliance with record keeping in line with legislation.
To oversee and direct staff to ensure the unit is running efficiently and effectively.
Develop, implement and maintain an actual and planned staff roster ensuring and clearly showing staff on duty.
Provide appropriate supervision for staff and carry out performance management & appraisals.
Facilitate training for staff as required, including refresher training as part of a continuous professional development programme.
To oversee the allocation of staff on a daily basis e.g.
escorts, bus drivers, staff allocation to units and residential.
Provide strong leadership to the team and develop and support a strong culture of quality and safety in service delivery.
Possess the ability to motivate people and maintain a good team spirit in a pleasant working environment.
Possess such knowledge and experience of administration as would enable him/her to discharge satisfactorily the duties of the post.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Minimum Requirements: Hold a Degree in Social Care; Applied Social Studies; Applied Social Studies in Social Care; or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI) Minimum of 3 year's post qualification experience in the area of Intellectual Disabilities working with Adults?
Highly experienced Social Care Professional with a minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory capacity.
Management Qualification advantageous Detailed knowledge of social care sectoral issues, thinking, regulation & vision.
