We are searching for a Depot Lead Job Summary: The Depot Lead is responsible for managing day-to-day operations at the depot, ensuring seamless distribution processes, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with health and safety standards.
This role involves planning and optimizing routes, managing driver schedules, and fostering a high-performing team culture dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.
The Depot Lead collaborates closely with management, HR, and other departments to maintain operational excellence, monitor performance metrics, and implement continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities: Maintain and update vehicle records for insurers.
Ensure vehicle servicing, tax, DOE compliance, and weekly mileage tracking.
Promote the company image by ensuring vehicles are clean and well-maintained.
Support and uphold Health & Safety standards within the depot.
Report and address any incidents involving vehicles, employees, or customers.
Foster high employee morale and dedication to customer service.
Plan and assign driver routes 8 weeks in advance, ensuring appropriate vehicle allocation.
Manage driver schedules, including holidays and training cover, in coordination with HR.
Monitor KPIs, analyze performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Coordinate with the Logistics Manager to develop and execute the distribution strategy.
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and security in the depot.
Resolve customer or driver issues promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with service and sales teams to ensure seamless customer support.
Prepare and submit monthly distribution reports, including fleet management and efficiency metrics.
Liaise with Roscommon Head Office on fleet-related matters and ensure compliance with procedures.
Maintain open communication with HR and management regarding operational updates, employee concerns, and incidents.
Qualifications: Proven experience in depot, logistics, or distribution management.
Strong knowledge of fleet management and vehicle maintenance procedures.
Familiarity with Health & Safety (H&S) standards and regulations.
Experience in managing teams and fostering employee engagement.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Proficiency in monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and implementing improvement plans.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.
Full, clean driver's license.
Flexibility and willingness to travel to other depots across Ireland, as required.
