We are seeking a Deputy Data Protection Officer within our wider privacy team, based in Cork but open to applicants from Dublin (hybrid).
This role is designed to support the organisation to achieve our goals and meet our regulatory obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ePrivacy, the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, and emerging Data Protection Regulations affecting the organisation. As the Deputy DPO, you will support the DPO by advising on Data Protection matters, overseeing data incidents, breaches, and supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). The role sits in the IT Information Security & Privacy Team and your responsibilities would include supporting the wider team in the administration of compliance activities across the organisation including GRC, IT Risk, and PCI Compliance as required.
Key Responsibilities: Deputy Data Protection Officer Monitor Musgrave's compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and all other related or emerging Data Protection Regulations affecting the organisation.Act as the contact between stakeholders including Data Subjects, Musgrave business units, and the regulatory authorities Data Protection Commissioner (DPC), the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) as required.Assist Musgrave in demonstrating compliance with GDPR by:Monitoring GDPR compliance across Musgrave and maintaining documents that evidence Privacy by Design, including Records of Processing (ROPAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).Providing data protection advice to business areas across the group, including supporting projects from a data protection perspective across the organisation.Providing advice on behalf of the DPO to the wider business from a data protection perspective.Work with third parties to identify trends in data protection, regulatory requirements and complaints enforcement, and update key stakeholders.Producing management information, communications, and ad-hoc reporting as required.Monitoring privacy & risk compliance across all of Musgrave's 3rd Parties.Maintain the Musgrave Data Protection Framework, Policies, and Procedures.Conduct or oversee activities related to data protection campaigns, internal communications including internal phishing campaigns and Privacy & Security awareness training.Attend and present at company forums/meetings on matters relating to data protection.Investigate and report any incidents/breaches and recommend remediation actions.Oversee and support the Data Access Request Procedures across Musgrave.Manage all inbound queries from data subjects, third parties, and from within the organisation.Support the wider Security & Privacy team in the administration of compliance activities across the organisation including GRC, IT Risk, PCI Compliance (as required).Requirements: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a data protection role.A relevant professional data protection qualification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, and/or CIPT.Experience advising on the GDPR and general knowledge of other related regulations.A good grasp of data protection and compliance risks within a retail industry.Ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholders, with the confidence to interact with management at all levels.Self-motivated, able to set priorities and meet project deadlines.Nice to Have: Law degree or third level qualification.Experience working with auditors and regulators.Musgrave is an equal opportunities employer.
