Design Engineer

Engineering (Design/ R&D / Mechanical / NPI)Our client, a leading Medical device company based in Sligo is hiring a Design Engineer.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Design and development of new medical products.Product/process evaluation and associated record keeping.Selection of raw materials, components and suppliers.Fabrication of prototypes, and test products.Communication with customers/Project Managers regarding project progression.Resource for colleagues with less experience.Product and process continuous improvement activities.Other such duties as may be assigned from time to time by their Manager.Adhere to company Health & Safety requirements.Job requirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or similar related discipline is essential.4/5 years plus experience in similar role is essential.Experience of working in a medical device environment would be an advantage though is not essential.Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing business needs.Motivated, self-starting with ability to work with a team and also independently.Good problem solving ability.Ability to take ownership of tasks and bring to successful conclusions.Knowledge of a high-end CAD System, ideally Solidworks.Hands-on approach to designing and fabrication.Ability to work to strict international regulations regarding medical devices.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team and thrive in a collaborative, supportive environment that values creativity and teamwork!
