Overview:
Our client is hiring for Design Engineers who will play a crucial role in designing biogas and renewable gas connections, both internally and through outsourced engineering service providers. The successful candidate will manage design risks, deliver high-quality design services, and contribute to the alignment and efficiency of the Design Delivery process.
There are a number of positions available specializing in Design Transmission, Distribution, BioGas/CNG and EC&I. This is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the sustainable energy sector by transitioning from natural gas to renewable alternatives, such as biomethane and green hydrogen, while also supporting intermittent renewable electricity sources.
You will be part of a positive work environment and receive an attractive package. This is a 3-year contract with high potential for conversion to FTE. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic skills for technical issues and a solid understanding of gas-related process design. The Design Engineer will collaborate closely with other discipline-specific engineers, external partners, and the Technical Assurance team to ensure seamless alignment throughout the Design Delivery process, meeting project or program deadlines. A critical component of the role is integrating sustainability into the design process to develop low-carbon solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the design process for CAPEX, OPEX, and new connection projects within the gas transmission network, developing designs from first principles, performing calculations in accordance with gas standards, and ensuring projects are delivered on time.Contribute to the continuous improvement of the design process, including developing procedures and documentation for material guidance and enhancing design efficiency.Ensure that all design documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory controls and standards, including ISO: 9000.Work closely with C&I Design Engineers, outsourced partners, and the Technical Assurance team to align the design process from inception through to project delivery.Ensure compliance with environmental, planning, and other statutory conditions as part of the consenting process for projects.Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Engineering (Level 8) is essential, with a minimum of three years of post-graduation experience at an engineering level.Experience in the natural gas, oil, process industry, or utilities sectors is preferred. Relevant technical competence in related fields will also be considered.Strong understanding of the engineering design process, particularly in gas-related process design.
