Role SummaryAs a Cloud Engineer, you'll maintain and manage existing cloud infrastructures on Amazon Web Services, overseeing access management for uTrack members. You'll ensure clients' application environments are consistently operational, regularly assess environment services and resources, and collaborate on maintaining infrastructure diagrams and documentation.
ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues in cloud infrastructure and services, collaborating with other team members and stakeholdersFacilitate secure AWS account access for team, using best-practice security concepts, adhering to zero-trust securityImplement and proactively maintain monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues and improvement areasOptimise client application environments performance, availability and troubleshooting capabilities, in collaboration with senior cloud engineers and developersContribute to annual security audits and generate the required management reporting dataPerform periodic backup reviews and backup restore testingDevelop and maintain clear and consistent documentation for cloud infrastructure, processes, and best practicesParticipate in Agile development processes for effective communication and collaboration within the teamRequirementsMinimum 1 year experience working as an engineer (preferably AWS or Azure preferred, IBM, Google and Alibaba Cloud considered)Solid understanding of secure Access Management and Access Management Policies, with experience of adhering to security framework controlsProficiency in Linux terminal, shell concepts and scriptingKnowledge of OSI and TCP/IP models and their relevance, along with familiarity with containerization technologiesMust be well versed in the understanding and utilization of REST Application programming interfacesGood communication skills, both verbal and written – in this role you will use a combination of technologies, as well as face-to-face meetings, to collaborateStrong analytical and critical mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure and servicesMust be comfortable working within and with remotely located teamsNice To HaveAn understanding of software development/deployment (CI/CD) pipelinesProficiency in one or more programming languages for writing, understanding, and debuggingExposure to container orchestration technologies (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, or cloud service providers' implementations)Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or Ansible)Knowledge of Web Application FirewallsBackground in security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP or other Metasploit)Previous experience with third-party technologies (Gitlab, Confluence, LucidChart, Zabbix, Jira, Microsoft 365) is beneficialWhat We Look ForPassionate engineers with a collaborative spiritInitiative, innovation, drive, quality and efficienciesCommitment to produce concise and easy to understand documentationFlexible working hours and a hybrid working policy; 2-3 days in office weekly33 days holiday, including 8 bank holidays, with increases for long servicePrivate medical insurance, with an additional personal wellness allowanceAccess to a professional development fund for learningHigh spec tech and the best tools to be successful.
