Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is the national charity for people with Down syndrome and their families in Ireland, supporting over 5,000 members across 25 branches nationwide. DSI is dedicated to being Ireland's primary source of expertise, support and information to people with Down syndrome, their families and the professional community. We strive to create an environment for people with Down syndrome to achieve their full potential, as equal members in society with full entitlement as Irish citizens.
We are currently recruiting for a Digital Communications Officer to join our team based in National Office in Dublin. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator and an expert in all things digital, including creating compelling content for social media, websites and e-newsletters. You will also assist the Fundraising Team to promote fundraising events and campaigns.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and edit the website (WordPress), including improvements and updatesKeeping up to date and advising on developments and opportunities in the digital arenaDigital content creator and editor for multiple social media channels, including Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTubeSupport in creating and issuing the bi-weekly e-newsletterCreate and design videos to promote the work of DSI and support fundraising effortsDevelop a range of promotional materials and collateralStrong experience in analytical tools such as Meta Insights, Google Analytics and WebmasterAny other duties as designated by the Communications ManagerPerson Specification/ Required Skills and Knowledge: Educated to degree level or equivalent in relevant areaMinimum 2 years' relevant experience in a digital marketing or communications roleExcellent writing skills; must have digital copywriting and copy-editing experienceStrong experience in using the WordPress CMS platform and all main social media platformsContent production expertise using tools like Photoshop, Canva and video/audio editing toolsExpertise in SEO, Google Analytics, AdWords and Meta Ad managementWell-developed interpersonal and networking skills to build and maintain key relationshipsDemonstrate a real passion for social media and digital technology trendsFlexibility in work arrangements – occasional out of hours and weekend workAn understanding and empathy for the mission and work of Down Syndrome IrelandLocation: Unit 3 Park Way House, Western Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin 12 HP70.
