Digital Forensic Specialist The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission Inquiry, Independence, Impa[...]

Details of the offer

The Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) is an independent statutory body. Its objective is to ensure that complaints against members of the Garda Síochána are examined in a way which is both transparent and equitable, and which increases public confidence in police oversight.

GSOC is in the process of undertaking a major transformation project, as a result of the new Policing, Security and Community Safety Act. One of the key changes in the Act is renaming GSOC as Fiosrú – The Office of the Police Ombudsman. This new title is expected to be in place by the end of 2024.

GSOC is now seeking a suitably qualified and committed individual to take up the role of Digital Forensic Specialist (Higher Executive Officer) in its Digital Intelligence Unit.

Responsibilities: Provide specialist digital investigation assistance and advice to GSOC. Engage in a wide range of functions to support the delivery of effective and efficient systems in the Digital Intelligence Unit. Present evidence in court if any of your cases are brought to court. Eligibility Requirements: Full details of the role, including specific eligibility requirements, is available on www.publicjobs.ie.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 3pm on Thursday 24th of October 2024.

We are committed to a policy of equal opportunity and encourage applications under all nine grounds of the Employment Equality Act.
