Our client is an award-winning, architecture and urban practice based in Ireland the UK.
This highly successful organisation and world leaders in Architectural design and construction is on the lookout for an experienced Architect Project Director to manage and develop their growing business operations in Cork.
About your new job
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and experienced Architect to join a diverse and highly successful and growing organisation.
Reporting to the Board of the Company and working with the existing leadership team you will manage the organisation's strategic business operations in Cork and have an active involvement in the overall management of the company.
Principal Duties and responsibilities
• Working with the existing leadership team build and cultivate an effective, highly motivated team of leaders by providing guidance and coaching and being responsible for developing firm-wide design standards.
• Contribute to overall work generation programme of the office through active involvement in preparation of private and public submissions, feasibility studies, appraisals and client presentations.
• Represent the company at social and business events to foster links and contacts in the business community generally, and across the construction industry.
• Develop and manage the overall project management skills of the team to ensure consistency and high quality.
• Contribute to the effective management of resources within the team based on financial information to be provided by the Financial Controller as well as overall resources of the office
• Ensuring the organisation remains progressive, relevant and fosters innovation.
• Identifying more effective and efficient service models, anchored to best practice.
• Advise on, provide assurance around and escalate all relevant matters relating to the Group's Business Development, Planning and Performance to the Chair and the Board, ensuring the provision of timely, concise, and accurate reports.
Qualifications and Experience
• A recognised third level professional qualification in Architecture.
• 8-10 years' experience working at Project Director level within a large corporate architectural firm.
• Significant leadership experience in driving business development and growth.
• Proven ability to think objectively methodically and systematically, plan, communicate and act at a programme / multi-project level and to help commercial drive change in an organisation.
• Relevant experience of the development, delivery, and management of architectural projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have an entrepreneurial mindset
