Primary Responsibilities: Coach, mentor and lead existing UHN Advanced Analytics team members Enhance and create UHC E&I data science capabilities Link with the UHN affordability team on adhoc requests and affordability opportunities Deliver on tactical data requests & issues for UHC E&I affordability Run sprints, gather requirements, deliver results to key partners Link with the Data Engineering team to productionize key dashboards and/or data products Evaluates existing tools and processes to create a long-term strategy for sustainable analytics in a scaled business, offering ease and efficiency of data visualization, and transfer for business users. Creates repeatable processes that are easily replicated by multiple team members Leads documentation of analytics processes and procedures to support training and business continuity Influence without authority; interpret analyses for business leaders and equips them with the knowledge to make data-driven decisions Being Customer-Centric : focus the team on the customer and design from the outside in. They find out what their customers want, then design processes and plan the work to create a better customer experience Cultivating Team Engagement : be responsible for creating and maintaining a high level of engagement with team members and others. The interpersonal climate that exists in a team is the combined result of how well each member works with others, deals with motivational ups and downs, resolves conflict, and communicates optimism and energy. Facilitating Execution Plans : translate an enterprise strategy into a workable local tactical plan. Managers must decide what path to follow, what tasks need to be done and by whom, how progress is going to be measured, what resources are needed and what contingency plans to put in place if something goes wrong. Fostering Innovation : adapt and innovate in response to changes in customer sentiment and conditions surrounding the team. Acquiring, Assessing and Deploying Talent : responsible for on-boarding, orientation, deploying, training, developing, and terminating employment when that is called for. You stay curious, expect success and are courageous Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or related field Experience in data analytics/data science/actuarial Ability to work with internal customers to define business problems and proposes analytics or solutions to solve or address those needs Experience in the healthcare industry; the ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of the relationships among pharmaceutical companies, PBMs, pharmacy providers, health plans, and medical providers Experience with pharmacy and/or medical claims information Advanced SQL and understanding of relational databases Advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel Proven track record of possessing an action-oriented, issue-resolution mindset Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and work in the face of ambiguity Demonstrated experience engaging with and influencing senior executives Experience managing a team Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or higher in relevant field Experience with Tableau Desktop skills Experience with R, Python, Github, etc Familiarity with data engineering All telecommuters will be required to adhere to the UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
