Summary: The Director of Emerging Technology is responsible for driving technological advancements and fostering innovative practices. This role serves as a bridge between the business and technology, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of emerging technologies like Data, GenAI, Blockchain, etc.

As Waystone is in the early stages of setting up the Organization Technology architecture, this role will be key to establishing the data framework and establishing the Waystone data backbone with strategy, governance, product roadmap, and realization of the data value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES In partnership with executive leadership, spearhead the technology strategy by identifying and implementing emerging technologies to enhance our service delivery and operational efficiency. Work closely with the Product and business teams to assess strategic requirements from Fund Admin and ManCo perspective and, in collaboration with business units, lead strategy creation and development of new data products or services. Lead, sustain, and strengthen a diverse team of subject matter experts and fellows in data, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Take authority and responsibility for exploiting the value of enterprise data governance, assets, products, and promote the related business benefits to internal and external stakeholders; be the organizational champion of data-driven insights that support the exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities. Oversee the deployment and maintenance of a comprehensive inventory of all data assets of the organization. Develop and challenge current Data Architecture, Quality, and Governance. Define, manage and advance enterprise data management principles, policies, and programs for stewardship, advocacy, and custodianship of data and analytics. Oversee the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies, including pilot programs and proof of concept testing. Stay informed on FinTech/RegTech trends and emerging technologies, providing regular updates and insights. Manage and successfully implement our strategic data platform program and automation, analytics, and AI technology organization-wide. Foster strategic relationships with technology vendors, industry organizations, and innovation thought leaders. Provide expertise and guidance on strategic technology investments. Participate in the development of training, documentation, and adoption metrics for implemented technologies. Build a team of A players (right skill, right will, and growth mindset), that are able to bring in the change. Maintain, service, and further develop the global Enterprise Architecture function. REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 10+ years of experience in the financial and technology space, with a strong focus on data, analytics, and AI. Strong understanding of tech and emerging technologies in the financial field. Excellent project management and coordination skills. Proven track record of managing innovation projects and technology implementations. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners. Team-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field preferred. Preferred: IT architecture certifications (e.g. TOGAF). Experience in IT infrastructure and Cloud Services.
