Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan Mental Health Services currently provides specialist mental health care to a population of 127,000.
It provides specialist assessment, care and treatment, for people spanning all life stages to include a broad range of primary and community based services as well as specialised services for children and adolescents, adults and older people.
Services are provided in a number of different settings including; the individual's own home, approved centre, outpatient clinics, acute day services (day hospitals), day centres, high, medium and low-support community accommodation.
These services are delivered by staff from a range of disciplines including psychiatric nurses, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, family therapist, and support staff in line with Sharing the Vision.
The strategy document sets out how services should be structured and delivered in Ireland and in conjunction with our voluntary partners to ensure the meaningful involvement of the service user in the management and delivery of a recovery focused mental health service.
Sligo, Leitrim, South Donegal and West Cavan Mental Health Services are committed to working towards the development of a recovery orientated service that acknowledges the unique nature of each service users' journey to wellness and health.
The focus is on providing assessment and treatment at the least complex level.
The Services are recovery orientated and are provided in a wide range of hospital and community based locations.
Hospital services include: Liaison Services, the Adult Mental Health Unit, SUH.
Community based services include: Adult Mental Health Teams, Psychiatry of Later Life, CAMHS,Mental Health Intelluctual Disability, Crisis Resolution Services, Rehab and Recovery, EIP, ADHD, Day Hospital Services, Day Centre Services, Low Medium and High Support Residential Units.
