This role is critical in leading the vaccination effort and ensuring effective administration of vaccines across the region.

It seeks to deliver measurable health improvement, and provides public health assessment and advice to health and social care service planning, all of which is underpinned by health intelligence.
Vaccination Programme The key function of the Health and Wellbeing vaccination programme is to offer vaccines to the whole of the population for whom it is indicated.
The Irish Vaccination Programme is designed to ensure the safe effective and efficient administration of vaccines to all who are eligible and wish to receive it.
The Director of Nursing (DON) will have responsibility for compliance with medicines protocols and medication management across the programme.
The DON will be the clinical lead for the vaccination programme.
The DON will be responsible for all clinical staff on the vaccination programme including deployment and skill mix.
The DON will be expected to develop, implement and monitor the processes required to deliver a safe and efficient vaccination programme.
The DON will have responsibility for the future planning of the vaccination programme including any other vaccination workstreams that come on board.
The vaccination programme is expanding the current workstreams include : COVID Vaccination Programme Flu Vaccination Programme LAIV for children BOTP/IPA Childhood catch up vaccination Programme: Monkey Pox MMR Cath Up The DON will be responsible for all clinical activity across all vaccination workstreams.
This includes the management of staff for the programme.
The DON will work with General the Manager to ensure that service functions as expected within the area including support with PQs, Press queries, complaints, YSYS, incident management, equipment service records, supply monitoring and management, resolution of data quality issues, etc.
The DON will also be expected to work across the Health and Wellbeing division The post holder will report to the General Manager, Vaccination Programme, HSE Mid West.
