This contemporary four star hotel is highly praised for its stylish ambiance and superior guest service. They now seek an ambitious, proven Director of Sales who will help ensure the hotel's continued financial and commercial success.
Key responsibilities:Implement the hotel's sales strategies and achieve budgeted revenue, working in close conjunction with the senior hotel management team.Develop strategies to maximize Revpar and grow market share, working closely with Revenue Management and the Marketing Team.In conjunction with the Director of Revenue Management, ensure the hotel is competitively positioned within the local marketplace at all times.Manage the hotel's commercial plan alongside Revenue and Finance by providing recommendations for growth.Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, local market dynamics and customer trends.Develop and administer sales budgets, setting individual goals.Ensure forecast accuracy in conjunction with Revenue Management.Lead and develop the Sales team, helping to create an overall hotel environment focused on delivering excellent levels of guest service.Maintain excellent communications and relationships with all other hotel departments.Maintain excellent relationships with external customers and suppliers.Support and engage in daily sales activities as required.Other additional duties as required by the General Manager.The ideal candidate:Previous experience as a Director of Sales/DOSM of a large four/five star property with significant events business.Proven track record of achieving/exceeding sales targets and goals.Creative flair towards sales approach.Visible commitment to guest satisfaction and providing a superior guest experience.Proactive, assertive attitude with excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Enjoy working in a team environment and leading and developing team members.Competency across all relevant IT systems (MS Office, Opera S&C, other hotel PMS…).If you thrive on a challenge and are always ready to go the extra mile for both your team and your guests, we'd love to hear from you!
