The post of c/ANP has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, recovery orientated, high quality, team based, integrated care for individuals with mental health problems.
The purpose of the role is to provide assessment and support the individual through the delivery of appropriate treatment and recovery orientated interventions to work towards reduction in the need for acute hospitalisation.
The main purpose of this c/ANP post is to
· To deliver the National Clinical Programme for Self-Harm and Suicide-related Ideation (NCPSH).
· To support the development of a comprehensive Mental Health Service, based in Dublin North City and County that incorporates future concepts such as CAMHS Hub model of care.
· To improve services and supports for young people and their family/carer/ supporters, to meet the increased demand for supports to community healthcare networks
· To support the implementation of the NCPSH, CAMHS operational guidelines (2019) and CAMHS Hubs model of care in line with best practice and the standardised operating procedure.
· In conjunction with the specialist team pathways of Eating Disorder, ADHD, SCAN and Day Hospital will develop protocols to support the development of integrated care, which ensures equity of service to all children and young people using the service.
· To ensure that there is a responsive approach to the mental health needs of the young person experiencing a mental health crisis.
· To provide evidenced based therapeutic interventions for young people in mental health crisis such as DBT informed approaches.
· To be accessible and responsive to the supervision/education/training needs of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CAMHS) group.
· To provide and participate in clinical supervision.
