Mine Planning & Scheduling Role: Drillcore Technician
Location: Navan, County Meath
Full-time, Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen within the company for a Drill Core Technician.
In this role you will report directly to the Team Leader in Mine Geology.
As drillcore technician, you will have the overall responsibility for the management and operation of the onsite core-shed.
This role also involves taking drill cover samples to an off-site lab and bringing back rest material after sampling, typically one day per week but may vary with operational needs.
The role involves high interpersonal and communication skills, accurate record keeping and promoting and upholding the Boliden Tara values of Care, Courage, and Responsibility, whilst also ensuring a safe and positive working environment within the mining operation.
Main Duties and Responsibilities: General core shed management including cataloguing of drillholes, implementation of housekeeping, monitoring and ordering of supplies and being point of contact for ongoing maintenance and improvements.Drill core sampling and dispatch with a focus on QAQC.Maintain accurate records of drill core inventory and sampling.Drill core photography to a high standard.Transportation of drill core samples to and from laboratory in Loughrea, Co. Galway.Performing other duties as required.Experience and Qualifications: Full clean driver licence (previous experience driving for work preferable).Leaving cert or equivalent is required.1 year+ industry experience.Fluency in the English language.Physical fitness – ability to perform physically demanding tasks (manual handling training will be provided).Good IT skills – proficient in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Experience in working in a fast-paced environment.Additional Info: Staff position with normal 37.5-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
There will be some international travel required as part of this role.
