DTCO/PPA team is part of DTECH organization in Qualcomm, similar to R&D - Research and Development, responsible for evaluating every new tech-node on the market, starting with spice simulations on few cells, continuing with synthesis and Place and Route for digital designs, working closely with most advanced microchip foundries in the world, working closely with best EDA vendors in the industry which provide us the tools.
Your responsibilities will include: Candidate will work on a team of 6 engineers, where main focus is evaluation of every new technology nodes.Main activity will be Spice simulations for few digital cells, connected into a ring, analyse data and interpret the results.Those results will be then corelated with real data which are based on silicon analysis.Candidate can use spice simulation learning further, into DTCO/PPA exploration, where will be able to perform synthesis and Place & Route, for digital designs exploring weaknesses into existing cells (DTCO) and finding solutions to improve PPA (Power Performance Area) from technology point of view.
What are we looking for: Spice level simulations is a mustUnderstanding of circuit designKnowledge of device physics and digital designUnderstanding of standard cell library characterizationUnderstanding Python, tcl, Perl languageUnderstanding using Physical Design tools from at least one of the following EDA tool vendors in advanced process nodes, Synopsys (ICC2/Fusion Compiler) or Cadence (Innovus).Understanding using synthesis tools from at least one of the following EDA tool vendors in advanced process nodes, Synopsys (DC/Fusion Compiler) or Cadence (Genus).Education Requirements: Candidate must have a master/bachelor degree into electronics/microelectronics/nanoelectronics to be able to understand digital design, circuit design, layout and schematic.
