ECC Engineer The Enterprise Command Center (ECC) is Millennium's first line of defense and first response against infrastructure disruptions and failures. The team's goal is to react quickly, efficiently, and effectively to maximize uptime of systems and minimize trading downtime. The successful candidate will work on resolving infrastructure issues and fulfilling service requests across the following platforms: Compute (Unix, and Windows), Monitoring, Database, Storage, and Networking while also managing infrastructure and trading outages that can potentially impact the business.
The successful candidate will work within the Enterprise Command Center (ECC) New York-based team. The candidate should have a good understanding of IT Infrastructure with at least 3 years of relevant experience. Excellent communication skills and work schedule flexibility are required. Mobility to other teams within infrastructure is possible based on skills and knowledge developed within the role.
Responsibilities Infrastructure Monitoring:Eyes on glass continuous monitoring of our technology estate to either anticipate or identify technology issues.Infrastructure Operations:Troubleshoot and remediate issues within Millennium's IT infrastructure.Fulfill adhoc and scheduled operational requests.Collaborate with local and global teams to continuously share knowledge of the health of the production environment.Write and maintain detailed runbooks with specifications for alert escalation and other processes.Infrastructure and Trading Incident Management:Drive support teams to address and resolve incidents.Coordinate responses to outages, communicate to stakeholders, and manage incident bridges/calls.Ensure all incidents are accurately documented within our ITSM toolsets.Continuous Improvement:Identify and look at ways of improving current processes or increasing service quality.Constantly review and evaluate methods of working to look for efficiencies and ways to improve workflow.Qualifications/Skills Required Candidates must have a College Degree in an IT discipline.Network experience (Cisco CCNA certified).Basic Compute (Linux and Windows) operational experience.Good problem-solving skills.Quick learner, detail-oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work.Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others.Able to prioritize in a fast-moving, high-pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency with the ability to adapt to new responsibilities.Strong communication skills.Experienced in interacting with demanding customers.Knowledge of monitoring tools is a plus.Experience in running incidents/situations/crisis events in a complex environment desired but not essential.Schedule Holiday rotation coverage required.Weekend coverage required.
