Hays have advertised for an Education Assistant, based at the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin, on a 12 Month Assignment.
As Education Assistant, you will join the National Museum of Ireland who are known as Ireland's leading museum institution, with a strong emphasis on national and some international archaeology, Irish history, Irish art, culture, and natural history. Your new office is located in Dublin City, full time at their Collins Barracks offices. NMI requires you to join their team on a 12-month assignment.
Your new role As Education Assistant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
Working as part of the education team to research, prepare, deliver and evaluate the public and schools' programme;Contributing to, coordinating and facilitating public events and activities;Maintaining relevant public spaces;Overseeing the care and maintenance of the handling collections based at the Museum;Liaising with front of house staff around educational activities and resources;Undertaking administrative work in relation to education programming, activities and projects;Contributing to the production of learning resources - worksheets, activity books, resource packs and guidelines;Undertaking outreach visits when required;Working as a member of the Education team on financial administration, processes and reports;Assisting with the maintenance and development of the Engage & Learn web pages which relate to the work of the Education;Performing all other administrative and ad-hoc duties that fall into your new role.What you'll need to succeed You will ideally have recent relevant experience with proficient communication, administration, co-ordination and organisational skills. A qualification in Education, Museum or Heritage Studies, History, Art History, Archaeology, Zoology or a combination of any of the aforementioned is desirable. A knowledge and understanding of museum learning and audience-centred programming along with experience of working in the field of cultural education is essential. The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, key audiences and visitors with an understanding of museum learning for a range of audiences, including schools, families and intergenerational groups, is necessary. You will require strong IT skills, including MS Suite and Access.

Salary: €29,796.86 per annum.
