Our client who's headquarters is based in Co. Offaly is looking to recruit an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The location for the job will vary as you will be expected to frequent all projects but the main location will be Offaly with travel mainly around the Leinster / Dublin Region.
You MUST HAVE construction Industry experience of 10 plus years and strong knowledge of ISO standards.
Sectors to include residential, civil, pharma, and commercial works.
Head of SHEQ ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Management:Oversee and manage all EHS practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.Mentor, support, and manage EHS Officers.Support site management teams in implementing effective Health, Safety, and Training policies.ISO Management Systems:Implement and oversee ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) within the Integrated Management System.Ensure both systems conform to requirements, communicate effectively across the organization, and maintain relevant documentation (e.g., Risk Assessments, Incident Reports, Legal Registers, Environmental Aspects Registers).Health & Safety Compliance:Conduct audits and ensure compliance with legal requirements and company standards across premises, transportation, and employees.Develop and implement Health & Safety plans, campaigns, and good practices.Perform accident investigations, closeout processes, and initiate preventative measures.Provide training, toolbox talks, drills, and manage training registers.Reporting & Records Maintenance:Maintain safety documents (e.g., site inspections, inductions, toolbox talks) and ensure GDPR compliance.Report safety statistics and provide regular updates to management.Site & Equipment Oversight:Conduct site inspections, audits, and ensure compliance with permits, method statements, and traffic management plans.Other Responsibilities:Update and maintain fleet records with the Plant Manager.Review and approve subcontractor paperwork and manage insurance claims.Attend monthly management meetings to report on Health & Safety.Research and recommend Health & Safety training programs.Regularly review and update environmental and Health & Safety policies.Requirements: 10+ years EHS experience within the Construction IndustryFull clean drivers licenceWhat's on Offer: Salary will be starting at 90k + (plus benefits)
