During your apprenticeship, you will be paid a weekly wage, financially supported for travel to college, or provided with accommodation.

With BAM's construction sites located across the country, we endeavour to place you in a location of your choice—helping you answer the question, "What if my future starts here?" Your mission On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified electrician, with a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate Craft – Electrical.
This apprenticeship is a 4 year programme consisting of 7 phases.
4 on-the-job and 3 off-the-job in a training facility.
As an electrician you will be involved in the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of various wiring systems and services in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.
Your work will range from wiring, to more complex systems involving process control and maintenance in industrial plants, hospitals and power stations.
By the end of your training, you will be able to: Install, commission, test and maintain: electrical wiring systems and services; electrical plant and control equipment; process monitoring and control systems Interpret technical data and use test instruments for effective system maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification, and the installation/calibration of sensors, transmitting and controlling devices Carry out your work in line with statutory regulations governing the safety of personnel, plant, premises and the environment Perform general electrical installations Interpret technical drawings and specifications Plan and organise the installation of electrical systems Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems Know and apply required health and safety procedures.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a school or college leaver who is looking to start their career in the construction industry.
You'll need good communication skills, be an excellent team worker but also be able to use your initiative.
As this is an apprenticeship, you must be prepared to work towards your qualification whilst also working on site and gaining the experience you need to succeed.
To undertake this apprenticeship, you must: Be at least 18 years of age.
Have a QQI Level 5 (or equivalent).
Have a Pass Grade in Maths & English at Level 5 (or Equivalent) at time of start date What's in it for you?
