Role Purpose
As an Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the engineering activities on a number of construction projects. The activities associated with the project will vary and will be agreed with the Operations and Project Manager on an ongoing basis. You will co-ordinate the technical design with the onsite installation through to the successful commissioning ensuring that the Kirby Group vision, mission & values are fulfilled.
Electrical Engineering Manager Responsibilities
In conjunction with your project team, you will be responsible for the execution of various stages of a project as follows:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians. Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines. Conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities for team members. Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team. Review and approve electrical designs, drawings, and specifications. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes and standards. Complete electrical design review to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in the specifications. Lead Engineering Design and Design Management tasks on Projects as part of an integrated project team. Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services & Design. Proactive with a strong ability to work independently and without supervision. Design and specification of Electrical Engineering Solutions to current regulations and design standards. Working directly with clients and project engineers to define project requirements and develop technical solutions. Develop and agree design processes and design deliverables. Lead Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including design development, construction details, services coordination, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc. Assist in the continual improvement of the QA System and execute project reviews. Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, marketing, and project bid teams. Provide off-site technical support to construction teams on projects. Necessary Requirements of the Electrical Engineering Manager Third level diploma/degree in Electrical Engineering. 9-10 years relevant experience, ideally in a design consultancy environment. Knowledge & experience of current Design Guides, Codes of Practice, ETCI and/or BS7671 Regulations, Building Regulations, EN Standards and IEC Standards. Experience in Amtech, Dialux, Adobe Pro, Autodesk AutoCAD 2D and MS Office Suite Software. Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management. Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team. Excellent level of attention to detail and accuracy.
