An exciting opportunity for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our new client based in Castletownbere, Cork on a permanent contract. Our client is a leading animal nutrition company and this role will be based in their manufacturing facility in West Cork. Process Improvement will be one of the main functions of this role.
Role Responsibilities: Optimising design and efficiency of existing and planned processing equipment.Work with the Plant's management and the Projects Group Engineer as necessary to develop/propose new projects to enhance and optimise the plant in line with continuous improvement objectives.The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will promote a working environment of continuous improvement.The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will promote process efficiency and lean manufacturing principles.Supervise and plan any 3rd Party Contractor works within the plant.Ensure proper management and maintenance of the plant's physical assets. Has responsibility for providing "hands-on" technical support to the production, and repair of equipment and/or tools.Report directly to the Plant manager / Head of Operations and communicate on matters relating to plant functionality, maintenance, safety, and all other relevant information.Ensure the engineering activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the Safety Statement, Environmental Policy, and procedures.Support maintenance team, ensuring ongoing preventative maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repairs to ensure continuous, reliable, and repeatable operation of all equipment.Perform root cause analysis of system failures, sub-standard equipment performance, using standard tools and methods, to resolve machine and system issues.Maintain, diagnose, and troubleshoot existing (as built) mechanical and electrical systems.Role Requirements: Degree level engineering qualification or equivalent experience working as an electro-mechanical technician for at least 5 years, or time serviced Apprenticeship or equivalent Certificate/Diploma in an Engineering or related discipline is required.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-related computer applications required.Report & policy writing skills required.Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.For a confidential discussion and more information on the role, please contact Barry O'Brien. ****** (021) 491 1060
