Advert to Promote the Job Join our clients team as an Electro/Mechanical Technician on our Night Shift 5/7 in Annacotty, Limerick! Work in a dynamic and growing healthcare services company with a global footprint. This role offers a rotating schedule: Weeks 1+2 from 9am to 5pm, and Weeks 3+4 from 9pm to 5am with a 15% shift premium for night shifts.
Key Responsibilities / Outcomes MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance and repair of automated equipment and systems:Complete preventive maintenance on equipmentReview and improve maintenance routinesCarry out repairs to equipment when failures occurTypical equipment includes:Automatic storage and retrieval systemPrinting and labelling equipmentConveying systemsMechanical lifting/de-stacking machinesFridges and freezersBuilding services and facilities, including HVAC systemsCoordinate electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, and pneumatic control systemsCoordinate the scheduling and performance of PM routinesSupport Production Team in achieving targetsUpdate and use of Handover procedure, complete handover sheet and relay contents to Engineering Manager and incoming shiftClosely monitor line and machine performance and intervene on the line as soon as any deterioration in performance occursWork with equipment suppliers on new equipment, installations, and modificationsBe observant and work off your own initiative when a fault is detected, taking action based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or notParticipate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competenciesUpdate the maintenance management system and records of all changes, stores transactions made, and work carried outTroubleshooting using PLC ProgramsResponsible for completion of planned work, shifts daily input of all works, parts booked out of stores, and control of breakdownsPerform other tasks within capability as determined by the CompanyMeet matrix targets and KPIs determined by Internal customerSafety:Carry out regular safety audits of equipment and systems in all sections of the plant, using necessary resources to effect correctionsEnsure proper authorizations for all outside contract works and materialsAdhere to Health and Safety regulations and policies, reporting any infringements immediatelyNew Equipment Install and Commissioning:Complete installation and commissioning of new equipmentSupport Validation team in completing equipment validationSpecify and recommend new equipment for installation or replacementMaintenance of Facility Systems and Equipment:Support the facilities team in preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical/electrical equipment associated with a semi-automated warehouseStandard Operating Procedures:Write up engineering procedures for responsible equipmentQuality:Execute all work in compliance with relevant quality systemsOther responsibilities may be added as necessary for the effective operation of the engineering teamKey Skills & Experiences Qualified tradesperson – Mechanical/Electrical, or relevant automation/maintenance experienceExperience with a computerized maintenance scheduling system and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and WMS diagnostics (training provided)Experience in equipment maintenance and engineeringExperience with PLC and machine logicFamiliarity with motors and general motor maintenance and replacementSome experience with Pneumatics2 years of experience in a high-volume automation environment with working knowledge of Pneumatics, PLCs, and SensorsShift and Work Schedule Weeks 1+2: 9am to 5pm, Monday to FridayWeeks 3+4: 9pm to 5am, with a 15% shift premium for these weeks onlyEmployee Benefits Pension: Option to join the pension after 6 months service, with up to 5% employee contribution and 7% employer contribution of basic salaryEmployee Assistance Programme: Support offered through VHITuition Assistance OpportunitiesWellness CampaignsAnnual Leave: 21 days, rising to a maximum of 25 days over a number of yearsAdditional Benefits:Free parking on-siteFree tea and coffee stations on-siteBike to work schemeSavings schemesPaternity leaveCareer breaks/unpaid leaveSports and social outings
