Job Description We are looking for an Engineering Development Manager for a newly created position in our engineering team in Manorhamilton Road (MHR), Sligo .
AbbVie MHR produces Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, both small molecule and antibody drug conjugates, including highly potent compounds, and drug products including a variety of oral solid dosage forms.
This position reports to the Engineering Director and will have up to 7 - 10 direct reports, with a total team of ~25 including contract engineers.
This is an exciting opportunity which combines capital project management with system development programs such as "factory of the future".
Roles and Responsibilities Provide Engineering Support Services to the site including Site Capex Planning, Engineering Project Management, Equipment Reliability Development, and Maintenance Excellence Program Ownership.
Ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance.
Control all relevant engineering budgets (baseline > €15MM/annum, with additional specific site expansion projects).
Responsible for setting annual goals, completing reviews, developing growth plans, and carrying out performance management of the team.
Develop the team with the emphasis on continuous improvements and employee development.
Support the creation of development plans which will result in a flexible and agile site.
Liaise with Operations departments to ensure the site is developed to meet future demands.
With input from relevant stakeholders, create the capital Long Range Plan (LRP) for the site.
With input from relevant stakeholders, create the annual capital plan (Plan) for the site.
In conjunction with relevant stakeholders create scope documents for proposed capital projects.
Manage all capital projects on site.
Develop and maintain an equipment Reliability Program for the site covering API, OSD, Automation and Utilities.
Develop and maintain the Maintenance Excellence Program for the site.
Liaise with Global Engineering on these programs.
Develop and maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures.
Liaise with AbbVie Engineering Personnel, and external partners and trade bodies in keeping abreast of latest technologies and processes.
Present and take ownership of area during regulatory inspections and corporate audits.
Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or a relevant discipline is essential.
Membership of an internationally recognised Engineering Professional Body, such as Engineers Ireland, ISPE, ASME, etc.
advantageous 10 – 15 years engineering experience in pharmaceutical industry (API, OSD and/or biologics).
5 years engineering supervisor or management experience.
