About the Team Document Persistent Storage Service provides secure, resilient, and highly scalable persistence with simple, easy-to-use APIs. We build, expand and extend outstanding database, key-value and object storage applications to store and orchestrate documents in a SaaS cloud environment. Our team's ownership is focused primarily on private data centers services but with an eye on growing the public cloud ownership also.
About the Role Software Development Managers on our team:
Lead highly technical Erlang developers who work on sophisticated distributed systems Manage a team of DevOps engineers operating a multi-clustered, large fleet of NoSQL databases Handle server budgets for our service at the core of Workday's persistent storage Provide strategic direction and ensure alignment with company goals Refine and contribute to the vision of the team, helping to shape the future of our services for Workday customers Build critical systems at scale and work closely with collaborators across multiple organizations Ensure data security, resilience and integrity by implementing standard methodologies and compliance measures Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth About You Basic Qualifications: You have 2+ years managing development or production engineering teams of 6 - 8 software engineers You have 4+ years software design and development experience. You have used configuration management tools and procedures like Chef, LinuxOS, NoSQL, Ansible or similar You have worked with highly distributed, highly concurrent systems, having SQL / NoSQL experience is a huge plus in technologies like RIAK, Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, HBase or similar You have experience with cloud object storing services (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) is highly appreciated Other Qualifications: You have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills You take pride in owning your service throughout its lifecycle and always hold top of mind your service's Security and Resiliency Strong analytical and interpersonal skills Self-starter, highly motivated and ability to learn quickly Master's in Computer Science or equivalent Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
