Job Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Cork, Ireland (Hybrid). There will be a requirement to come to the Arlo office once per week (this will be discussed more at interview stage).

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of engineers while overseeing the design, development, and delivery of high-quality products and solutions. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving technical excellence, fostering a collaborative team environment, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within scope. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, client communication, and a passion for innovation and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers by providing guidance, performance evaluations, and career development opportunities.Technical Leadership:Provide technical guidance and decision-making on design, architecture, and implementation strategies for the engineering team.Project Management:Manage and prioritize the engineering team's workload to ensure timely delivery of projects.Drive the planning and execution of development cycles, ensuring that projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.Process Improvement:Evaluate and refine development processes and methodologies to increase efficiency and product quality.Quality Assurance:Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure that all products are thoroughly tested and meet performance, scalability, and security standards.Establish and maintain effective monitoring and feedback loops to catch issues early in the development process.Client Communication:Build strong client relationships, provide regular status updates & reporting.Set realistic expectations with clients.Handle conflict resolution & escalation, managing delays or changes.Qualifications: Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.Experience:Overall 10+ years of experience in software or hardware engineering, with 4+ years in a leadership or management role.Proven track record of managing successful engineering teams and delivering high-quality products.Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).Experience in client relationship management.Skills:Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and engineering best practices.Expertise in system design, architecture, and modern development frameworks.Excellent project management skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.Experience with services implementation over cloud environments like AWS, Google, Azure, etc.Microservice design approach and implementation.Familiarity with the latest CI/CD methodologies and practices.
