Engineering Manager - Limerick Plant

Engineering Manager - Limerick Plant CPL is recruiting for an Engineering Manager on behalf of my client, a leading manufacturing company based in Limerick. This senior-level role reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Job Purpose: The Engineering Manager will oversee all aspects of the Engineering Department, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements. This role requires a strong leader who can drive plant performance while maintaining high standards of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities: Provide leadership in enhancing safety awareness and implementing best practices throughout the plant in line with corporate and legislative requirements.Lead a team of engineers, supervisors, professionals, and tradesmen to deliver optimal plant performance.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, environmental, and operational excellence.Oversee all maintenance work on-site, ensuring the short and long-term reliability of assets.Maintain a motivated team focused on a preventative/predictive maintenance system.Manage various maintenance projects, including the planning and execution of annual shutdowns.Prepare and manage annual maintenance budgets, reviewing costs and acting accordingly.Actively participate in recruiting, identifying, and developing talent within the department.Participate in resolving industrial relations matters using established procedures.Manage the Plant Control System and local IT systems.Oversee the efficient operation of the Stores Department.Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate will have:
At least 7 years of experience in a similar role or working environment.A qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.Proven technical skills and strong commercial acumen.Excellent IT and project management skills.A strategic mindset with the ability to think ahead and drive initiatives.Exceptional attention to detail.Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.A demonstrated ability to lead and influence a team effectively.A history of adding value and contributing to overall performance.Outstanding candidates who may not meet all the criteria but demonstrate strong leadership and technical skills will also be considered.
Remuneration: A competitive salary package will be provided, commensurate with experience.
