Amazon is looking for an energetic, detail-oriented individual to join our Data Center Engineering Operations Team. This committed group works to maintain the critical physical infrastructure that supports Amazon Web Services. Specifically, this team works to ensure that the data center's Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems (MEP) operate at 100% availability while maintaining first-class customer service to the teams and groups within the data centers.

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) is Amazon's front-line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation and responsible for delivery of best practice systems and problem resolution on all data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure within the data center environment in a specific location. The role requires a highly driven, self-managed individual who demonstrates initiative and proactively seeks solutions to complex technical problems. This position requires frequent site interventions, critical switching activities, along with troubleshooting and fixing infrastructure issues. The role would suit someone who enjoys working in a 'hands on' capacity on Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) infrastructure such as diesel generators, switchgear, UPS's, PDU's, Chillers, Pumps, AHU's, fire detection systems and building automation systems.

Key job responsibilities: Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing workOperate and maintain mechanical and electrical equipmentTroubleshoot facility and rack-level events within internal SLAsPerform limited maintenance, repair and audits tasksTake daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.)Manipulate small wires and objectsCollaborate effectively with internal & external stakeholders to deliver operational excellenceUtilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventorySupervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenanceDraft, update & maintain method statements, standard operating procedures, emergency response procedures, preventive maintenance programs, and all technical documentation pertaining to DCEOFully comply with all physical security procedures and policies Physical Requirements: Walk job sites in uneven terrainWork in extreme climatesWork at heights and from laddersBend or twist the body into unusual positions while workingPush or pull heavy objects into positionWork in noisy environmentsWork a shift rotation (24/7) Minimum Qualifications: Electrical or mechanical journeyman licenseKnowledge of key electrical competencies and theoryKnowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controlsKnowledge of backup generator systemsGood English verbal and written communication skillsHigh school or equivalent diplomaExperience in data center engineeringExperience leading and managing operations of critical facilities which require in-depth knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and control systems
