We are now looking for Engineering Technicians (4x Shift Cycle) on a permanent basis to join a medical device company in South Dublin. Reporting to the Shift Process Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, overhaul, adjustment and modification of all plant and production equipment, as well as the fabrication of new and replacement equipment.
As Engineering Shift Technician, you will also be involved in troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives and ensure smooth operation of the plant.
Main responsibilities will include: Install, modify and maintain the full range of production equipment;Continuously improve the plant operations, including reducing downtime and waste, dealing with breakdowns, carrying out overhauls as required, working to the highest engineering standards, and fine-tuning production equipment to increase output;Assist in the complete validation of new and existing equipment including acceptance trials and debugging;Deal/liaise with vendors, suppliers and local engineering shops;Analyze customer complaints and internal quality issues, assisting in drawing up improvement programmes for equipment to eliminate defects;Assist with the training of other Engineering Technicians, new recruits, and apprentices as required;Participate in companywide continuous improvement initiatives, working in teams as required and utilizing appropriate quality tools;Maintain appropriate recording and reporting systems on all engineering related matters (e.g., breakdowns, maintenance etc.);Utilize all current and new IT/processing systems (e.g., SAP);Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping to ensure the area, machines, and equipment are maintained in a safe and clean condition, correcting and/or reporting unsafe conditions and other faults.About you
The ideal candidate would have good knowledge of the mechanical and electronic systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment and hold a Third Level Qualification or National Craft Certificate together with additional specialized training and experience.
Relevant industrial experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment is crucial for this role. You must have the ability to apply a scientific approach to problem-solving, blending analytical and experimental skills to maximize productivity and yields. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work as part of a team and on their own initiative. You must have relevant PC skills.
The company operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. This is a 4-Cycle Shift Pattern role (Days and Nights). You must be willing to work 2 x 12-hour days, followed by 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 days off.
